Bill Gates Gets Stink Award for Pushing Polio Vaccine, Still A Nerd

    Bookmark and Share

It started last night at Corkbar, an over priced, non-organic wine bar that has great food, in tiny portions. Sipping away the dollars and hours, my wife and I made the best of it with Public Displays of Affection (PDA) mixed with discussions on how to teach our kids to be more defiant to organized religion, Big Government and anything else that steals independence and freedom in the name of security. But,the nerds next to me almost ruined it, giving rise to my latest Stinky Sulfur Award and almost a fight gone bad…

All five wore nerd badges like dork pride beacons announcing their employment by a major tech company like Google, Yahoo or Microsoft. And the more sips…

10 Painkiller Facts Your Doctor Doesn’t Know About

    Bookmark and Share

By now you know that the painkiller Vioxx is deadly. That wasn’t always the case.

Prior to its release, The New York Times told patients that, “Two large drug companies say they have developed a new class of drugs that can relieve pain and inflammation without the gastrointestinal side effects of current drugs.”

Advertising in disguise, the new pain killers were positioned as safer alternatives for the 13 million Americans who take Tylenol and non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, naproxen and dicolfenac. The article cleverly pointed out that among NSAID users, “76,000 are hospitalized each year for ulcers caused by the drugs, and about 7,600 die from those ulcers. About one in three people who take the…

    Banana Nut Bread

    Ingredients:

    3 cups almond flour
    2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt

    4 large eggs
    2 very ripe bananas, mashed
    3 tsp vanilla
    3 tsps cinnamon
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (I hate walnut and don’t add them)

    What to do:

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Combine the…
