I have been making wine for many years. This audio with Tony was very informative.
I always thought that sulfites were used to stop/prevent secondary fermentation, but I didn’t hear Tony talk about this issue.

re: sulfites in wine, it makes my heart rev like a motor boat. My son shared organic reds from Redmond, WA and what a pleasure.
Thank you and Tony for the interview.
Glad to know about Trader Joe’s having his wine on a private label.

Great information! Recently I’ve cut way back on wine consumption, and now I’m only drinking alcohol one or two nights/week. This results in a low alcohol tolerance level, which is a good thing. The downside is that only one glass of vino can give me a headache. Sounds like sulfite-free wine can remedy that.
Thanks, Shane!

Great interview with the maker of “Our Daily Red”. My husband and I just recently decided to have a half-glass of red wine with our dinners a few times a week but I don’t like sulfites at all (I have stayed away from chemicals and pharmaceuticals for years). I’ve seen some organic wines but it’s always nice to get a good recommendation from someone that I trust. We are even intending to go to his little tasting room in Nevada City when we head to Tahoe this year. Sounds fun! Thanks for your wonderful website, the data, the products and the interviews.

This is actually the first organic wine I bought – it is different and didn’t really like it until I tried it again the next day, and no hangover, so I did buy it again. I’ll look around for the Syrah. Good info on sulfites but what about pesticides (my main concern) – are they concentrated in conventional wine/beer?
Donn Berdahl 4:37 pm on October 26, 2010
Hey Janine, Donn Berdahl here, Tony’s partner. Yes, pesticides are in conventional wine/beer. It’s a simple matter of certified organic products being produced ‘organically’, not just grown organically. In fact, unless something is certified organic, it may have been organically grown then sprayed with crap on the way to market. Happens all the time at farmer’s markets/supermarkets. Hope this helps. Any questions about our wines, hit me up at [email protected].
Thanks Shane for the help in enlightening folks. Cheers!

Donn, do you export your wines to South Africa?

Just wanted to let you know that I found Our Daily Red wine at a farmers market and bought 2 bottles. It is really good, too, I love it! This will be the only preferred wine for me now.
Thanks for sharing this great info, Shane.
Keep up the good work

I make my own wine from kits. The chemicals, Potassium Sorbate(Sorbitol) and Metabisulphite are included to stop additional fermenting and clearing the wine before bottling. While I do not like to put any harmful stuff into my wine, I don’t know any other way to prevent the wine from spoilage. Can you give me an advice?
