The People's Chemist

Privacy Rights for California Residents

Updated: December 31st, 2019

Beginning January 1, 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) provides California residents with a set of additional rights.

  • Right to Delete. You have the right to request that The People’s Chemist delete personal information that we collect or maintain about you and your account. To fulfill these requests, we must cancel and delete your account, which cannot be undone.
  • Right to Opt-Out Of Sale. The People’s Chemist may disclose certain information about you if you are a registered The People’s Chemist user, which may be considered a “sale” under the CCPA, and as described in our privacy policy.   You have the right to opt-out of such disclosures, though this may negatively impact your The People’s Chemist experience.  For example, we may disclose information such as your device ID (or equivalent) to allow advertising partners to provide more relevant advertising in our apps, and opting out will lead to your seeing ads that are not targeted.
  • Right to Know. You have the right to request that The People’s Chemist disclose to you the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you as well as information about how we collect, use, disclose, and “sell” personal information.

If you choose to exercise any of these rights, unless permitted by applicable law, you will not receive different prices or quality of service.
